THE SIZZLIN' SUMMER CONCERT SERIES WITH KISS FM! - KISS FM joined with the city of Columbia, State Newspaper and Columbia Action Council to present the Sizzlin' Summer Concert series again this year, now in it's 18th season! Kiss 103.1 presented 4 of the free concerts including Reggae Infinity, Elliott and the Untouchables, the Finesse Band, and Sabor'!

Family Affair for the Community - Kiss 103.1 joined with the City of Columbia for the 1st Annual Family Affair for the Community in MLK Park! There were steppers, youth choirs, the Double Dutch Forces, the Blues Doctor Drink Small, and the lovely Ann Nesby performed as well!

KISS 103.1 AT BLACK EXPO 2008! - There was plenty of excitement in May at the Colonial Center during the 2008 Black Expo...The Shining Stars competition, Michael Eric Dyson, actor Larenz Tate, and singer Smokie Norful, along with the Kiss Crew of course!

KISS AND JOYNER CELEBRATE WITH SC STATE! - Kiss 103.1 is proud to have been a part of the April celebration with the Tom Joyner Foundation to recognize SC State University as the Joyner School of the Month for March!
Myra J was on hand to make the presentation and to enjoy the Bulldog "spirit" with faculty,staff,students, cheerleaders, the band, and of course Kiss 103.1!

Bowl for Kids Sake 2008 - The Kiss Crew and 40 other teams "took it to the lanes" to help benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Columbia in April...The 4 Kiss teams did battle with audience team members for braggin' rights..and wow, what a lot of braggin'! But a lot of good for BBBS!

Take A Loved One to the Doctor Day 2008! - The Charles R. Drew Wellness Center played host once again for Kiss 103.1 and our Doctor Day event in April. Over 300 people were able to get vital health screenings and important medical information free of charge! Thanks to all of our screening partners and vendors who helped to provide an important service to our community once again!

The QB Weight Loss Challenge - Over 50 listeners joined Doug as part of our Doctor Day celebration for a 30 day weight loss challenge which began at Drew Wellness Center. 3 free memberships were up for grabs and the winners were announced during "Take A Loved One to the Doctor" Day in April. They were Noreen Doughty, Debra Abraham, and Floyd Goodman!

American Red Cross Blood Drive - In August, Kiss FM joined with the American Red Cross and WIS-TV for a day long effort to encourage people to donate blood. Patti Austin Performs for the Auntie Karen Foundation! - 98.5 Kiss FM was proud to be a part of the the Auntie Karen Foundation presentation of the "Legend Of" Concert Series in the Koger Center. This year's show featured the great Patti Austin and she proved for over 2 hours on stage why she is indeed a "legend"!

1ST ANNUAL BLACK FILM FESTIVAL! - In February to celebrate Black History Month, 98.5 Kiss FM joined with South Carolina State Museum,Cromer's,and Colbert/Ball Tax Service to present 4 outstanding black films as the 1st Annual Black Film Festival. Tre' Tailor and World Famous Johnny Green were hosts and each film also featured entertainment like Poet Truth Freeman and more! Thanks to all who came out and made our first film festival a success!
